Here is a pic from e90post showing the anthracite headliner. The main thing is that it would not get as dirty as the standard grey and also depending on your interior colouring it can reduce the number of contrasting colours in the cabin.

Anthracite is a rare fabric, that only grows in the jungles of Indonesia. Every year thousnads of people flock to islands like Benua, Airabu, and Matak, seeking the rare cloth. Some get injured or even parish, in their quest for the fortune that can be obtained from the discovery of an Anthracite nest.
For years poachers used coconut crabs to seek the nests that the anthracite grew in. Usually these crabs were subject to horrible conditions. Tanks, warm water, bibs, butter, and sometimes a little lemon. Just TERRIBLE I tell you!!! Won't you please think of the baby coconut crabs when ordering this option. Do you really need it ?

That's awesome that you can now get an anthracite headliner in a the E82. I have one on my E46 Coupe since it's a ZHP and I would never want to have a grey headliner again after having black

Anthracite is faux suede. Folks lust for it, partly, because it is trendy, it is also reputed to offer some resistance to wear, increased durability and stain resistance.

I thought Anthracite was just the black verson of the same material. Isn't the Alcantera the Faux suede?

Seriously, and for the record, anthracite is a type of coal, but a "coal colored headliner" just isn't going to sell. On the other hand, I am actually considering buying an Anthracite headliner. (I think you were actually referring to alcantera.) |

...I recall the hide of the Nauga; the punishment for hunting it is it would stick to your skin in the summer

Anthacite is the same as asbestos. It's a fire proofing material that you really only need in conjunction with a halon system. The main problem is with long term toxicity so if your order anthacite be sure to wear a respirator at all times.
hold on now while I get my tongue out of my cheek

Of course if Anthracite was the only color offered most would want grey. Suppose it depends on your exterior and interior color combinations as to what you think looks best. I think the grey head liner looks good with the aluminum trim with black leather. |
