I don't think it'll have an "amuse" style rear bumper.

I think the M3 front fender gills look ugly in the pic. Definitely agree that BMW should use different wheels to differentiate it from other M cars. I do like how the rear bumper is done; looks great there. I for some reason do not think BMW will offer the M1 with a CF roof. Is this already a known fact that it will? (I don't follow the 1-series at all as I never have been a big fan sorry)

Well... they don't really look any wider than stock...
I want to see some fenders that could support some 11" wide tires back there! Maybe if I have some time tonight I'll photoshopper my version.

Not bad. Price/performance will be the big determining factor.

wait for M5, that will give you more clues as to how the car will be handled style wise. I think the current -shop is nowhere near of what M would look like. doesn't flow, too much JDM in it which on bimmers looks nasty.

I have to say that I am not a fan of the 135i. I don't know what it is. I know that it is trying to resemble the BMW of old. To give the die hard BMW people what they want... a small, some what light, great handling, drivers car. But for some reason I am not a fan. I think its the looks that turn me off. Its a tiny car that looks very plain and dull. Maybe its too feminine looking for me. I am looking forward to maybe the next gen 1 series, maybe the looks will improve.
I started really following cars around the time when the e46 made its apearance so I am a big fan of the way BMW's use to be. The 1 series is the closest resemblance of that therefore I can't help but be intrigued by the M1. I am dieing to see how this car looks. The way Scott discribed it, sounds like it will look very masculine. If so, when I trade my 335i in for a M car, I will have a hard choice between the M1 and a 2013 M3 (last e92 production year). Audi S5 will get a look as well.

Edit
I have edited it based on some of the comments... first i think the CF roof will be better aligned to the back window (eliminating the roof rails) with black shark fin like the m3. Also as they have said the ducktail spoiler will be integrated, the wheels we already know how they will look so i used 261m style which is closer. I think the side skirts will be m-specific not just bmw perf., i made the rear track a little wider and the m-vent a little bigger and added an m1 badge. Roger did a great job just thought i would help get us closer based on some of the details we know!
