Convertible Top Issue

Hello,
The top on my 2011 128I will not go down. When I hit the down button the light is red, solid, not flashing. The convertible top picture appears on the dashboard. I have made sure the compartment in the trunk is all the way down and I have taken everything out of the trunk. Any thoughts?

Sometimes you need to go in the trunk and push the tray up and down a few times to disengage whatever lock is in there. It happened once to my car but never again. But im not one who puts the top down too often. And the trunk has to be closed too. Other than that im not sure. Good luck

there is a hall sensor in the hood compartment, that can go faulty, that is what checks that the hood has moved or not, if that doesn't send a signal, the top wont work, common issue, search for it online or in newtis.com or realoem.com, easy to replace, no coding
