longest mileage on OE RFTs
Question is just that... who has gotten the best longevity out of their OE set of RFT tires on a 135i? Anyone get past 20k on a set? 30k?

I went 18k before changing tires and wish I never did that. Ride was so rough it caused things to squeak and rattle. Replace them to non run flats asap, in my opinion.

I'm living on borrowed time @ 30,500 miles. Fronts would probably still pass inspection, not the rears though...

I don't understand how anyone can switch to non run flats. There's nowhere to put a spare. If you get a flat you're screwed.

I got almost 11,000 miles out of my RFT's. I might have worn them a little soon, with some driver instruction sessions, and then there was last summer's Autocross season. But, I drive like any other retired senior citizen. Slow and sure.
I'm sure my Dunlop Star Spec Direzzas will last longer. I missed the first Autocross. (But this week's Laguna Seca day might cause a little wear.) [/On Soapbox] A 135i is one of the best modern driving toys available. If you want good gas mileage, and tire life, get a F$*^&#G Prius. ENJOY LIFE and your CAR. [/Off Soapbox]

I got 27.5k miles out of my original rears and got 37K out of my fronts and they still looked great
I finally ditched em all and got new rims and non runflats and never looked back Brian

If it wouldn't have been a holiday Sunday when I had that blowout, I was about five miles from a Discount Tire that could have thrown on a replacement tire that day, and towing would have been free. I also sort of sensed that the tire that blew was having issues, and common logic dictated I would have had it checked sooner and prevented the whole thing. Don't bother with goo, that creates more trouble than good, just have the car towed the minute you get the tire warning light and have the tire patched or replaced. |

It's not about wanting tire life, it's about wanting tire performance in at least a couple of the major catagories. The factory run-flats are substandard by every measure. The grip isn't great, the ride is awful, and the price is absolutely absurd. Where's the advantage? |

I ran mine until they were worn out (which was 14k miles for the rear), and then replaced them with regular tires. Personally I wouldn't ditch them before they're ready to be trashed, but if you go to non runflats, you'll feel the difference in the ride. For mine it was really bad when hitting expansion joints on the highway. We've got more than our fair share of those old roads here, so it made it more noticable. If you're driving somewhere with normal roads I can see that it wouldn't be as obvious. |

Back to the OP's original question........
I replaced the rears at 22.6K miles....still running the fronts that have about 25% tread left.

Mine rears lasted about 10k miles. I probably could've gotten another 10k off the front tires.

I have 22k on my 2008 and the Goodyear RFT NCT's are looking very good in terms of thread life. Sux cuz I can't justify my non RFT tires purchase.

agreed, on bad roads RFT suck, and also when i hit a little hole, like a man hole cover about 2 inches down on the pavement the RFT feel like i hit a hole 6 inches deep BANG,,,scares the shit out of me when i am not prepared for it....10,200 miles on mine and still p[lenty of tread left....will be replacing them with NON RFT for sure....besides going with non RFT tires they are generally quite a bit lighter as well.

I have ~4,000 miles on mine. Fronts are at 8/32", rears are at 7/32". Tried to sell them before I took off the winter tires and put them back on, but there weren't any takers, so I just stuck 'em back on and am going to drive them 'till they're done.
