I would gladly trade a few hours on the side of the road for the performance you get on Autocross and track days. My Dunlop Star Specs make my car handle like a champ. When I first put them on and went to the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in NV, I was like "ooooh THIS is what the 135i can do!"

Of course, if you don't ever drive on tracks or do autocross events... you're totally right.
