Replacing coolant level sensor

Do you need to disconnect the batter when replacing this sensor or any other sensor for that matter?

I’ve never disconnected the battery to do any sensor replacement in older BMW, but perhaps this newer car is more sensitive to it?

Thanks

For coolant level sensor, I would say no need to disconnect battery, not sure if there is an official procedure for it though. No need to even drain coolant, or remove reservoir for that matter. If you have enough space in there (pending your hand size and if you have a catch can or something else in the way) you can leave everything connected and reach below the reservoir to unlatch electrical connection, twist and remove the sensor.
