BMW 1M time attack car
After slowly getting work done and just doing repairs on my 2011 BMW 1M I finally got some more room to get some upgrades!
KW clubsports v2 BBS RIA 10.5 et22 squared from (@slicer_m) on Instagram 265 Squared at the moment will go up to 275 or 285 squared when the tire is available. Nankang AR-1 Racetech 4009 seat CAE shifter PFC 08 pads active autowerke intercooler VRSF downpipes Active autowerke Catback exhaust Dinan stage 2 tune Went to WSIR for my second time and ran a 1:33 Also went to streets of willow for the second time and ran a 1:27 still learning the line on both tracks. it was about 90 degrees on both days, had little overheating issues after about 8-10 laps but one cool-down lap made it all go away. besides of course going to the track more for seat time new mods to the 1M soon. IF anyone is in SO-CAl contact slicer for wheels and JMP Autoworks for any work on their cars. both are amazing to work with. https://flic.kr/p/2g8VMvq https://flic.kr/p/2g8Waib https://flic.kr/p/2g8VMiS https://flic.kr/p/2g8W9VN https://flic.kr/p/2g8WakA Some new mods and tracks I have gone to. One of my newest mods yet to come in is new turbos from Hydra performance, running the 650 set excited to test at big willow on the 17th of april. installed the hydra performance turbos was tuned via MHD by wedge performance, Ken was amazing to deal with helped answer all my questions and got my car running 425 whp and 430 wheel torque. tested it at big willow a couple of days ago and run a 1:31 with only two or three hot laps. I cannot say enough good things about the turbos and the tune. excited to go back to buttonwillow cw13 for a 54 or 55 with this new power setup before I throw some aero on the car. The car has power steering issues, with it boiling over and now running an overflow for the power steering and now the pump going out if anyone has dealt with this let me know how to fix it. I know running 295 squared probably doesn't help but it drives so nice. |

Nice build. Doing something similar perhaps.
How are those turbos compared to stock (Mostly concerned about turbo Lag). Any difference? Also, I hear the CSF radiator leaves no room for an aftermarket inlet (with stock positions). Did you find the same issue or did you relocate your inlets.

I thought the 1M PS reservoir would resolve the 135i/M3 PS reservoir issues (where fluid leaks out of the top breather hole) but it doesn't. |

Interesting, two 1M reservoirs. Does the secondary reservoir have a fluid pickup that extends to the bottom of the reservoir and, if so, how can you guarantee that it will pickup the fluid to return to the primary reservoir? Otherwise, how does it return the fluid to the primary reservoir? What happens with the outlet on the bottom of the secondary reservoir - is it blocked off or routed somewhere?
Here's an example of the M3 reservoir with an overflow (BMW F650GS motorcycle rear brake fluid reservoir). Notice how the PS overflow is routed into the bottom of the motorcycle reservoir, which means that the fluid just flows from back down into the PS reservoir when the pressure subsides. I'm thinking the bottom of the overflow reservoir should be mounted higher than the top of the PS reservoir so the fluid is gravity-fed back to the PS reservoir. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=13886925 Quote:
