N54 throttle body

Has anyone here looked into getting the stock throttle body bore out a bit?
Always used maxbore in the past with previous cars and had great results?
What kind of results would you expect and is this a good mod?

Thanks.

Not quite the same thing, but I had a throttle body spacer in my car for a while and it did jack diddly squat. I gave it away to a friend because I didn't think anyone should pay for it when it literally did nothing to improve the engine. I don't think you'd see much gains (as mentioned) with your idea, either. But who knows..

The intake system on the N54 is actually really well designed. It isn't worth messing with it until you are putting down seriously large bhp numbers.

No one has tried to bore it out. Give it a try and report back

Anyone know what size the throttle body is off the top of their head?

Increasing throttle body size is not very common for turbocharged engines. I wouldn't bother.

Boring the TB on a F/I car doesn't really do much. But if it was a N/A motor that's a different story you'll see gains.

This is probably the least accurate thing I read on the Internet today.
