3M has their own software now with their own patterns called 3m digital designs. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...igitalDesigns/ "Its designed specifically for its film properties". I've used xpel on my previous car and I noticed a significant amount of stretch marks on the film because the way the kit was designed. So on the 1er I gave the 3M digital design patterns a try and it was a world of a difference. The kit went on like butter and there was no visible stretch marks. I also used the same installer from my previous car.

Not sure if this is what you're all talking about, but BMW does offer one themselves. The pricing isn't too bad:
$165 for the hood and mirrors
$119 for the bumper
and for the 128 only, the foglights are $19.95
