need help with windshield repair

Hi all,
I just bought my 128i less than a week ago and while driving a small rock got picked up from a car on the freeway and hit my windshield. The rock chipped my windshield and is roughly 1-2 cm wide and not even deep but i still would like to get it seal just to be on the safe side. Does anyone have any DIY or advice on getting it seal or do i have to take it to a window shop to have it professional done? Thanks guys.

Your insurance pays for this for free! And if you need a new windshield... it is also covered under your comprehensive ins, most states have a zero deductible. Take it to a pro.

Cool thanks. I know insurance covers on major windshield damage but since its so small i was trying to do it myself because i didn't think it was that big of a deal to make an insurance claim.

Your insurance pays for it as it will prevent the windshield from cracking and needing replacement which saves them money. You can buy diy chip repair kits at most auto parts stores, but a shop will do it for $15 - $25.

My insurance covers rock chip repairs for free. A windshield replacement costs me my deductible.
