Where to buy suspension in Ontario? (Bavauto experience?)
Looking for a shock/strut/spring combo or coilovers for my E82. Right now I'm leaning towards Koni Yellows and probably Eibach springs.
Has anyone had any experience ordering from bavauto.com? They seem to have the best price right now with no tax up front but I'm worried I might get bombarded with fees. I've been trying to find a thread about this but no luck so far. Also let me know if anyone is selling any suspension components. Cheers! Last edited by 1more1; 07-04-2018 at 05:43 PM.. |

Most Ottawa guys get their stuff sent to UPS Store in Ogdensburg NY. Its only about an hour away. We declare returning back into Canada. If you're buying over about $150, Cda Customs will have you pay duties & taxes. Now that's $150 per person. If there are 2 of you in car, Cda Customs may allow up to $100 per person. I'm always honest at the border.

I use a ship to the border depot in Niagara Falls NY, If you stay in US 48hrs you are allowed $800 per person.
Tell the wife/girlfriend your taking them on a long weekend and kill two birds with one stone ! Remember to split the order in both your names ad you can bring back $1600 of goodies also get a set of tires from Tirerack fitted while your there |

I cross shop between ESC Tuning & FCP Euro in the US and GermanParts & some other locals in Toronto. If the US$ price is roughly 50% of the best CDN$ price to defer the exchange and costs to pick up in Niagara Falls I go that route, as described in the previous post.
If the US prices are close I buy from FCP for their lifetime warranty on all parts they sell. Now just waiting for my next WP/HPFP/Coils/Plugs/etc to go so I can try it out. No experience with Bavauto except that a few parts I just checked are more expensive than the others I mentioned. |

Tdotpermance usually has great deals for parts as well. Thinking about buying the koni SRT.T yellows from there. It's less then 1G for the set. Forgot to mention. I bought a new axle back from them (even though the product says catback). They returned it full refund without issues. Great guys to deal with.

I've bought from various US vendors, and use crossborderpickups.ca
They give you a US address, and bring the goods over to their GTA depots or can ship locally via Canada Post. You pay them them the HST and any duties if any, and a small processing fee. Generally works out pretty well. |
