Going crazy. I get the worst radio reception am or fm

Is it normal to get bad radio reception on the 135i?
If not? What would be a feasible fix without having to buy a different sound system?

Listen to CD's?

Sorry.....couldn't resist. Mine is sketchy at times, but haven't really looked into it.

Yeah, definitely.
It also helps that you can transfer from cd to hard drive as well as the mp3 player.
But,. Well I still want to listen to my local guys.

Try and talk with another 1 series or approx same year 3 series owner to judge if you have a problem or if normal radio capability.

I'm guessing an antenna booster or amplifier issue.
Will look into it as soon as weather permitting.

The antenna is integrated into the rear glass/defroster IIRC, check that it's all connected back there.

Metalized window films can block the signal to the antenna.

Wouldn't the film be on the opposite side of the antenna?

For what it's worth despite my half-assed attempt at a joke earlier. I did have the same issue in my corvette. Ended up being an antenna booster, and it was located back along the rear deck lid.

Yes, so you are blocking the signal from all directions except from the rear. When I bought my Civic, it had metalized window film. Reception would change depending on which direction I was travelling. Changed it out for ceramic tint. Much better.

You're appreciated regaless I'm sure you meant well.
In fact I appreciate all comments for that matter.

Sure enough the antenna wire was damaged.
Will replace as soon as I get a chance in the meanwhile I will be listening to cds.

LOL that's kind of hilarious. Worst kind of directional antenna ever
