E87 Wheel Offset / fitment

Offset is too low unfortunately. Unless if you want to run stretched tyres and pumped guards

Hi all! I have a set of 18x8,5" ET48. Do you think they will fit my E87 130i with M-chassie? I'm a bit worried it's too wide/hight ET in the front?

Yeah will be fine. I had 18x8.5 ET35 previously and no rub.
Only now that i've gone 18x9 ET35 is it rubbing a tiny bit.

I had 18x8.5 et42 on the front of my old 130i. There was 1-2mm clearance to the strut with 245/35/18 tyres

How was the clearance between rim and strut? My 8.5" ET48 gives me 6mm less room towards the struts than your wheels :/

hmm let me try to find some photos. maybe it was without the 10mm spacer that gave 1-2mm gap (ie et52). this was 1.5 years ago now so my memory is probably incorrect lol

Just an update on my new rims:

AC Schnitzer Type III.
18x8.5" ET43 square set up.
Bridgestone RE003 235/40/18 tyres.
F: 3mm spacer to add strut clearance (around 1-2mm clearance without spacer), effective ET40
R: 10mm spacer, effective ET33

Stock suspension except M3 LCAs and camber pin mod to front.

No rubbing on fronts, very minor scrubbing on outside rear guard liner when pressing on bumpy mountain roads (fine in normal driving).

The rears are close to mine (effective ET33) and I have no issues with 235/45/18 tyre.

Fronts will end up pretty similar to mine (8.5" ET40) with a narrower tyre and I only get scrubbing on tight corners when pushing hard and loaded up.

Of course, a test fit would definitely be recommended as it could be touch and go.

Hi guys
I wanted to share my recent wheel change. I bought a set of BBS alloys with I think were on an E36 they are 18x8 off set 38mm, fitted with 235/40/18 they fouled the front arches. However following the camber pin mod which gave me 0.54 and 0.52 additional degrees of negative camber (car is stock), some back to school trig tells me that gives me 2.9mm of additional clearance at the tyre/wheel arch interface. This is enough and no more rubbing.

BBS RK 17x8 ET35 235/45/17 Bridgestone RE003 all square. Suspension all stock. Slight rubbing on rear wheel well lining, but my shocks are gone and needs to be replaced. Should go away after I install the shocks. Front rubs a little bit under hard cornering, but should stop rubbing after camber pin mod, I also have LCA coming. Will update here again after it is done.







Went up my friend's steep driveway to compress the suspension to see what the wheel was rubbing against.






Circled in blue is the wheel well lining that I think the wheel is rubbing against.

Wondering if rear will rub even with arch rolling and camber, or maybe have 8.5" wide et 45 on rear also. They are work emotion wheels. have stock m sport wheels on at the moment. Looking for some advice!

You may need a small (3-5mm) spacer on the front to aid clearance with the strut.

I have 8.5" ET33 on the rear with no issues.

Finally got the rear shocks changed and wheel alignment.

The rear rubbing has improved. I still get a tiny bit of rubbing on the wheel well lining. But front also slightly rubs if I go fast down a hill.

I've been told RE003 have a straighter side profile compared to other tyres.
