Installed my VDO boost gauge today
Well after hours and hours of work the boost gauge works perfectly but my custom install did not. I planned to install it into the ashetray area and went through all the trouble of taking out the center console, making a custom holder for the gauge (which consisted of cutting out part of the area behind the ashetray). Then when went to put it back in the car I found out that my gauge was too deep and my custom plate had to be removed. Now the gauge just lays in the ashe tray area until I can get a thin gauge.
Now for the good part, you all know I have a SSTT and that they are supposed to give you up to 11.5lbs of boost but, mine is pushing out 13lbs when I run hard and will spike to 14lbs when I hammer it..... A lot of people are yelling JB3, JB3 but I am here to say that the split second turbo tuner is great.....

Very cool! You should post a DIY or some pics. Too bad the gauge was too deep.
By the way, in the DIY section there is an "index of DIYs" sticky post, in case you're looking for some "how do I..." info next time. Now that you have a boost gauge, are you thinking of a dyno some day? or maybe a 1/4 mile run or two? |

i guarantee you when you do find your other boost gauge you'll have a different reading. In my other car i am running a mechanical autometer and the HKS CAMP 2 system with has an electronic solenoid and they read up to 1-2psi difference

Alright, I didn't want to post pics because it is not completed but here you go... Under the hood... You can see the T and the hose going to the boost gauge.... In the dash and on at night.... Here is why the gauge doesn't fit.... To long.... The new gauge I ordered is a digital and only 1 inch deep... It hooks to the hose remotely so I can put that under the dash....

That looks like a sweet setup man! But I like mine to be incognito, in the glove box.
