Oil change, spark plugs, cabin air filter, and new front splitters. 3 hours well spent!

I bought a buffing kit at Harbor Freight and used a rotory tool on a large air compressor:

Pulled each of the wheels and cleaned and waxed them. Lots of corrosion/rust between the rotor hub and the wheel hub even though I had applied anti-seize to all the contact surfaces.

I found the same thing when I switched back to my wheels. I grinded away all the rust and applied grease to the surface. Hopefully they won't be rusty when I take the wheels off next year to be waxed.
My dad says its from the Sonax wheel cleaner I use, haha!

On the drive home from work I had some momentary backroad fun following my dad in his 128i.

You don't really want to see how a six year old OEM BMW rim looks like... Awful.

For the love of God, turn off the YouTube stabilisation thing.

OK!! I thought it helped but I guess not. The video was already stable as is.

Yeah, I only pulled the wheels off once a year as well.

Maybe a good maintenance plan would be to pull the wheels every six months to check for corrosion... And even more often if there is corrosion.

It's the dissimilar metals touching each other causing the corrosion. I use a 1800 deg ceramic grease. It doesn't melt from the heat and sticks way better. It is even harder to wash off your hand if you get some on you. I use the same thing on my caliper slides.

Technically last night but I replaced a faulty crankshaft sensor, installed new ignition coils to preemptively replace my original 6 year old ones, and installed the VRSF DCI since I had to take apart the intake for the crankshaft sensor anyway. Really happy with how everything went, especially since all the parts came in earlier in the day!

Yeah, I figured it was galvanic corrosion. Odd that BMW would make such a design mistake to have the rotor hub be steel, knowing that an aluminum alloy wheel would likely be attached.

What's the brand of ceramic grease you're using?

Chasing down the cause of chattering wastegates and a boost leak.

Vacuum Lines, Charge pipe, and a BOV! Finally threw the stock crap away after 7 years. Solved the boost leak and quieted down the wastegates, though they still rattle off throttle.
