It's funny, you have to use the e92 M3 shields and trim them to fit. But it work perfectly.
I ended up getting a 3rd car, so I've been able to get my project up on blocks and work away on it. I'll be rolling it out this summer with an updated look. |

I did some spot welding on the inner portions of the edges. Otherwise this is on with 3M panel bond and countersunk SS rivets. Stronger then welding, no panel warping, and no risk of rust.

Great looking build! Interested to see the new look! Any hints?
P.S. I'm also a Marquez fan!

It's a shame that GP doesn't go to Laguna anymore! Got my tickets for Austin though!

No way! I was in the corkscrew that day too! I was also there when Marquez did the same thing to Rossi! I had been camping at Laguna for that weekend for 17 years. Long enough to see GP come back and then go away. World Superbike just isn't as exciting to me. Then again maybe I've become a bit jaded to the whole thing after being surrounded by it for so long.
I highly recommend checking out COTA, if you haven't already! The place is world class from top to bottom, although, Laguna holds a special place in my heart. Anyways, I digress.

2008 Laguna Seca. I still remember watching that race, best battle I have ever seen. Highlights from that race is up on Motogp's youtube channel, has over 15mill views.

Bump. Interested in the rear conversion and specifics of your process. Not looking to spend $12K total as quoted (from a shop in SoCal). Located in the Bay but unable to find a shop, any recommendations? Thanks.

It's the custom sheet metal work that most shops don't want to take on. That's why I did it myself. It wouldn't be hard to find a shop that would be willing to do the sanding/painting as that's pretty straight forward. |
