These are the inserts for the Type III. Throwback to the Type I and II design before it.

Still awesome wheels none the less, great pickup!

So I tested fitted 10mm rear spacers to the rear and went for a drive. No scrubbing yet... will leave them on this week and see how we go! Equivalent to 8.5" ET33 on the rear now... oh and I also fitted new Bridgestone RE003 235/40/18s all round:

Your car looks immaculate, love that blue. Looking at that first pic in your last post, have you thought about LEDs for the halos?

Thanks mate.

Yes, I've thought about LEDs but I actually quite like the orange OEM look so have spent the money elsewhere!

Finally had time for a wash & AquaWax on the weekend, including the wheels. Have now sorted out the fitment I think, on stock suspension, no rubbing etc:

- fronts: 235/40/18 tyres, 18x8.5" ET43 + 3mm spacer = ET40
- rears: 235/40/18 tyres, 18x8.5" ET43 + 10mm spacer = ET33 (equivalent to stock 135i rear now, I believe, given they have a 10mm wider hub)

Thanks mate. I only did the front to give a little more internal clearance to the strut as it's pretty tight

Had the 130i in for service on Monday at BMS Autohaus, Darlinghurst. Great work by Barry and the guys, and I think reasonably priced.

Above and beyond the standard service there was:
- new air filter
- new spark plugs
- new cabin filter
- VANOS fault deteceted - removed, cleaned and new O-rings fitted
- new oil filter housing cap
- They even coded my tail lights to be like LCIs, free of charge

Did they even do the golf tee mod for you? I reckon I'm going to have to sneak into your driveway one day and just do it... you've been missing out for way too long.

Just completed a 2000km road trip with some mates over the weekend - Sydney to Canberra to Thredbo and back with minimal freeway. Planning to write up a full report with route maps and sort through my 300+ photos. Here's a teaser:

Hey mate, quick question, are you able to tell me what size tyres you ran on the 269 wheels? Contemplating grabbing a set of the wheels for my 130i (moving from stock 17s) and am thinking 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear..

Hey mate - I ran 225/40 front and 255/35 rear. Looked fantastic but probably a bit too much tyre on the rear, especially with uprated front sway bar leading to more understeer. They're the same size rims as stock 135i rims, which run a 245 on the rear from factory I believe.

Thanks for that, still undecided whether I'll make the switch, the 17s have such a good ride quality, especially seeing that the car is a daily driven on some pretty rough roads!

Love the thread! I am also from Sydney and looking to get a 130i. But I am looking to get an automatic. Let me know if you friends are looking to sell.

When I get one, we should go for a drive
