Good tune for N55 PWG?

Just picked up a stock 2013 135is with DCT. I've had a 2007 335i for 4 years so I am very familiar with the N54 world, but new to fairly new to N55. I've done some research on the various tuning options: BM3, MHD, JB4. It looks like the PWG that my car has causes some trouble when it comes to tunes. Which tuner provides the best maps for PWG engines? My research suggests that MHD is slightly better than BM3. I'll be using OTS maps heavily. I've tried custom tunes but never had much luck, the OTS maps seemed better and more refined.

On my N54 I've had JB4, Cobb, and MHD. I liked MHD the best in terms of OTS maps, smoothness, and driveability. And I have the D-CAN cable.

In terms of mods, I will quickly be adding an intercooler, DP, intake, and CP.

FYI, a 2013 135is/i will need to have the DME unlocked before you can flash. MHD can do the unlock and provide tune. JB4 can be used without unlock but as a "piggyback only" solution it has it's limits.

No unlock required with Dinan tune.

True. Very stable but $$$. Also, it's a single tune, no flexibility for adapting to mods or custom tune.

I've been tempted by Dinan a couple of times (when it goes on sale) but I always back out.

I’m not sure how you’re reading my post but how about this:
Dinan = no unlock
JB4 = no unlock
MHD = yes unlock
JB4 + MHD BEF = yes unlock

Is there any downside to "unlocking" the DME?

But a Stage 3 DINAN tune still has to be done by a dealer vs the DIY Kit that allows a Stage 1/2 to be done yourself.

From Grant Efland @ DINAN, March of last year.
