Headlight brake ducts and intake

With some inspiration from sirdaft1 I went ahead and made headlight brake ducts from some broken old halogen headlights. The drivers side also has an intake duct that I'll hook up to a Stett CAI.

The brake duct inlets are pvc reducers and the intake hole is a piece of 6" hvac tube. The brake ducts go through the liners and they clear under full lock, not sure about how they'll do under braking and cornering but we'll find out in the spring.

Not too complicated but it took me two days to get it all set up and sanded down nice.

I'm not expecting a ram air effect, and I know that on a turbocharged car, FMIC>CAI, but I just wanted to try it and I enjoy fabricating this kind of stuff.

Very cool and nice work. Looking forward to hearing how the ducts perform. How do the ducts connect to the dust shield?

Thanks! I replaced the dust shields with some custom aluminum pieces that have a 2.5" flange where I attached the tube with a hose clamp.

I had this idea a while back as well and it looks fantastic. I'm tempted top buy some shitty ebay headlights and see if i could make it have the intake but still a running light

I'm sure it's possible. I'm not positive how the halogens are wired though, they might have different connectors, but mine were all removed so I didn't get a chance to inspect the wiring.

You have pictures of the pieces?

sorry to hijack your thread, but what MCS suspension are you running and what are your thoughts on it? Do you have any comparisons to another setup on your 135?

I am running the single adjustable MCS and I love them. Previously I had double adjustable KW V3's. I feel like the MCS, in combination with the M3 rear camber arms, are much smoother and progressive.

The MCS w/ M3 arms has a clevis style bottom mount on the rear, where the KWs had a rubber cup-style mount. I think this has a lot to do with the smoothness, but that's mostly speculation.

I also like the simplicity of single adjustables. The MCS dampers adjust from the top which makes tweaking your setup a lot easier.

Excellent to hear! I'm planning on doing the MCS remote double adjustable. The remote reservoir should help with making adjustments easy.
