The best thing about iDrive for me would be getting the Bimmertech backup camera. I don't have iDrive but wish I did for that sole reason.

I like the black and chrome grilles as well and have them on my car. Personally don't like all chrome and don't like all black. The all black seems to be popular. Nice we have choices.

Unfortunately, there isn't a Miracast app that works with Connected Drive. I installed a hardware solution. Here's my write up on it:

It's the Bimmertech rear view camera retrofit Esteban referenced. When I got the retrofit kit, I also opted for the Smartview module which connects to one of the 3 A/V inputs on the MMI module.

also saw something on the vin lookup that said area code 1 dvd...
sounds like nav doesn't it?? but no idrive.. with is the dvd for??

Agreed. I have all three versions: black/black, chrome/chrome and chrome/black, and I prefer the contrast of the traditional chrome/black, since it ties into the headlights, and I don’t have black wheels.

elitesales305, I wouldn’t worry about iDrive. It just dates the car and clutters up the dash. When I was looking for my car, I was specifically looking for one without it!
