Sudden rattling noises over bumps
Was just on the way home, downshifted from 4th to 3rd on an off ramp... easy driving... RPM never went above 4k... no pot holes. Now out of nowhere I hear this going over bumps -- sounds like someone dropped a spoon that's rattling around in the engine somewhere. Nothing obvious hanging down below. No engine light/temp issues.
(ignore the radio presets) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1g2...Bn2bWAstsyRdav Something in the suspension? Engine mounts? What does a charge pipe sound like? Its sounds right in front of me in the middle -- not out in one of the wheels. Thought maybe the plastic cover was knocking around. |

Hard to tell from the sound, but the usual culprit for rattling over slow speed bumps is sway bar end links.

My car started rattling last summer any time I hit a sharp bump.
A bolt on a support tying the differential to the body had come loose. I torqued the bolt on the differential and it went away. It was probably not torqued properly when the dealer dropped my DCT to fix the oil seep on the pan cover. |
