Funny info about the BMW performance brakes

Called BMW today about them. I was told the BMW performance rotors and entire brake kit is totally different to the standard 135i brakes.

The BMW tech verified that the Performance rotors are 338x26mm in size, where as the standard 135 rotors are 324x22.

With that in mind, it would seem the calipers are different and its not only the yellow paint that differs them.

Seems strange though, as professor has the BMW rotors - professor, did you verify the size difference (if any) between your std rotors and the drilled/slotted performance ones?

17" that would make for a 431mm brake disc.. that's not right!

Your information is incorrect.

Standard 135i 338x26
BMW Performance 135i 338x26

Measuring side by side they are exactly the same, i did this and i took a photo that is on my website.

Measuring back to back they are identical as well.

Kris, still trying to justify the purchase? Lol. Just do it. It sure looks nice, like the carbon ceramic brakes on a Porsche.

Justify, no I just want to know what the differences are. BMW swore to me the sizes are different and then told me 'oh the BMW Perf kit is different, otherwise they wouldn't sell it'

Well they are full of shit. It's well documented on 1 addicts that they are the same. Even the part number is apparently the same for the caliper.

If you'll lend them Kris, Corey or Ronnie may want to try it on their 125i's. Then maybe you guys could do a deal.

If the guys want to try them, when you fit your new ones, send the old ones down to me and i will trial fit them to a 125i and see if they fit, just an idea to help you sell them.
