Justpete showed on Dyno dynamics, while Stig's is a Dynojet
I didnt do TQ comparisons inthe past, i didnt do it here either :S However it is possible to notice Evolve may have less TQ at 3.7-4.2k rpm based on the slopes after the dips

OK, I'm confused. Not like it's unusual for me or anything...

What is the disa dip matching technique? Thanks.

I would suspect he is creating a general alignment of the two curves by overlapping the two DISA humps as they happen at the same RPM. It does not compare HP, but rather compares power curves.

Looks to be, yes, but I'm confused by what the slopes would mean if the hp numbers aren't correlated but rpm is. It's good to see the shapes are the same though, at least generally and maybe that's the point, dunno.

The slopes are still scaled to their respective graphs, just with mostly synchronized RPMs. For example, a stock 330i will have the same DISA flap points, but clearly will have less HP than either one of us. We can align the DISA flap points and use that to compare curves.

As I said earlier though, that comparison is going to provide more confusion than clarity.

Yes the graph is there for a simple reference, this does not mean its anything close to what really is

Understood, thanks for generating the overlay. Normalizing the slopes and overlaying at rpm points makes sense now for a qualitative comparison. AFR plots would be more helpful but those are hard to come by most of the time.

Yep. I haven't generated one with BMWLogger yet, not that it'll make any sense separated from the dyno of course. Once the PT-CAN connection is fixed I can log acceleration and rpm on the DL1 and correlate it with Lambda from BMWLogger via matching rpm during the same run. And that won't correlate with the dyno either. But then what would?
