Car died and sat for a while, battery is dead and won't jump

Last fall my car(2011 128i-N51) started to make a whistling noise under the hood that went away when I removed the oil cap so I deduced I had a clogged CCV and since the CCV is integrated in the valve cover I waited a bit to do it myself. Fast forward a month or so and my car started to have a rough idle and would take a little longer to start up when cold. Then on my way way into work one morning, the car just died and would not start anymore. Got it towed home and scanned the codes with a cheap scanner, I had a few codes:

P0171 - Bank 1 System Too Lean
P0174 - Bank 2 System Too Lean
P1017 BMW - Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft Sensor*Plausibility
P1006 BMW - Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft Sensor*Guide
P1026 - Intake Manifold Air Control Solenoid Short To Positive
P140E - Manufacturer Controlled Auxiliary Emission Controls
P140E - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Motor Control Circuit 2 High Voltage
P1004 BMW - Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft Sensor Guide
P0506 - Idle Air Control System Revolutions Per Minute Lower Than Expected

Haven't needed to get it fixed ASAP as I had another vehicle, but the weathers getting nice again so I went to take a stab at it. So for the whistling noise I bought a new valve cover and for the non start/rough idle when it was running I bought a new eccentric shaft sensor(the plug was coated in oil so it needs to be replaced anyways)

The battery was dead as expected after sitting for 5 months, so I hooked up the other vehicle to get some juice in it to pop the trunk to get some stuff and it did jack squat. The only sign it was hooked up to a running car was that the hazards button was flickering, the dome light came on faintly for a min or so and there was a clicking noise of what sounds like a relay clicking on and off behind the glove box.

I've seen videos of people putting booster packs on their car with the battery completely disconnected and the car will crank over and start, mine won't even let me pop the trunk. Any suggestions of what's going on with the battery and how to get in the trunk to test/replace it? Also, any input on my diagnosis of the whistling and non starting issue is appreciated.

Thanks.

Im sure you can open the trunk mechanically with key. Measure voltage on battery with the booster. First step is to be able to get power to the car. Then you start checking the basics fuel and ignition.. the fuel system may be clogged

Later models didn't have a key entry installed on the trunk.

If the rear seats can be folded, there should be a wire to pull for emergency opening

Don't know if this helps. I was able to power mine after the battery died by hooking up to the power connectors under the hood.

I read around some more and heard of someone popping off the passenger side rear shelf speakers and was able to yank on the release cable to fold down the seat. Got in the trunk that way.
