Wasn't hard. I didn't sand so it took less than an hour to do all four.

Nice job mikeo -- that's exactly what I'm thinking of doing. Couple questions -- what was the paint code, and where did you get it? And did you just use an artist's brush?

I'm almost embarassed to reveal that I went to Ace Hardware and bought a half-pint of Rust'O'leum! LOL.

Oh, and jlee, TC Kline runs 18x8.5 GTS-R at all four corners with a 5mm spacer in front. And thats the setup I'm building, but havn't decided on tire sizes yet.

Well having seen your work, it makes me seriously consider these wheels now. I think the black ones would look good on my car, but the red stripe just doesn't work for me. But a little semi-gloss or flat black paint may well take care of the problem. And considering it's set back in the groove, the fact that it's painted may not be apparent at all.

Mikeo, do you think you can fit 8.5s all around with 245/35s without rubbing ?

and what about the 48 offset in the rear and smaller offset on the front..does that throw anything off ?

I think you can run 245x35 all around as TC Kline is doing it on their car. I don't think a 4mm wider front track (OE 49/52 vs. 43/48) will be noticable, I sure can't tell a difference.

Are the GTS-Rs as strong as the stock 264 rims? Those spokes look pretty thin. Under full lateral load with sticky performance tires, will they hold up or flex/stress crack?

Anyone else got photos of their 1 w/silver GTS-Rs on it?

GTS-Rs were used on a 135i at SCCA Solo Nationals with Hoosier r-comps mounted with no problems. I believe the wheels are TUV approved for strength/safety aren't they Gill?

Hi Gill

Just a few questions

1. Can I fit 18*8.5 wheels with 245 35 tire all around without spacer and no rubbing even With some aftermaket suspension( say PSS10)? PS: I don't care the wider front track looking.

2. Does this wheel strong enough for track work?

3. Can you ship them to australia?

4. anyone has pics of AW 135 with grey GTS-R??

thanks a lot!

I have the 18x8.5" +48et GTS-R in grey with 245 35 all the way around. I've used them at 3 track events without a problem. I'm using Kumho v700 R compound tires. I'm also using 10mm spacers up front to maximize track. I'm using Vorshlag camber plates to dial in about -2.5 camber and have no rubbing issues on the fender lip. And plenty of clearence to the suspension side. Haven't tried putting the wheel on without the spacers, but I think they will rub. Someone mentioned they needed at least a 5mm spacer to clear the suspension with their set of Breyton's
