I don't have any numbers to back up my statements, but the reduction in weight from swapping to the Breytons and non runflat tires really changed the feel of the car. The car feels lighter on it's 'feet' in both acceleration and cornering. The biggest difference I've noticed is on washboard roads. On bad roads, the car was almost unmanagable at higher speeds. Now with the new wheels and tires, the car is so much smoother and in control now. I've gone with all-season Yoko's, so I can't tell you much about better cornering (hey, they were free). With the darker wheels, you'll notice personal performance gains since you don't have to wash the wheels all the time anymore to get rid of the brake dust.

I have them also. It really boils down to "butt dyno" and from that perspective I agree 100% with everything Gray 135i said. I couldn't have said it better myself.

So say I have a non-sport package SGM/Coral 135i and want these wheels. Do you go Silver to match the chrome trim and grille or do you go Matte Grey/red stripe to match the paint and Coral Red interior?

thats an interesting dilemma, I think you have to go silver rims though unless you can get a polished lip to match the aluminum, otherwise I'd say it's awkward- you may want to check out my thread on the high gloss vinyl trim I had done, car looks very good

What I would really like to see is the trim somehow plated with the same black chrome as on the exhaust: ditto with the grills. Match that with the gray w/ red stripes and you have a pretty hot car without looking too ricey or over-matched.

this is exactly what I was thinking- i posted it on e90post because they are more into vinyl trim on the chrome stock trim- but what I was thinking was using lamin-x smoked or charcoal or gunsmoked film to make that effect work out- the consensus was that the lamin-x would work but it is expensive and you have to select the right color when you get it or you have to try over again, if it weren't $100 or so a roll I'd have tried it- maybe someone will, it would probably come out pretty nice. I just went with the much cheaper gloss vinyl though

I am also wondering this, I'd like to go 245/35/18 up front and 255/35/18 in the back, will this fit without rubbing?

These are the perfect wheels except for the sizes. I'm guessing Breyton wanted to make a wheel where people could use their original tires. However, i bet 90% of the people investing in new wheels would prefer better tires anyway. Hopefully enough people will request a wider front wheel or different offset for the 8.5 that they will put it into production. Maybe if we started a poll, it would generate interest!?!?!

the breyton 8.5" "rear" wheel will fit on the front with a 5-10mm spacer if you want to run a square setup.
i'd like to see plain black wheels without the (IMHO) ricey red stripes behind the spokes. |

Spacers have always made me nervous...not sure why. It's probably just from F.U.D. that has been spread about them causing issues. At least with the stripes, you can paint them! :-D

dont be nervous about spacers... tons of people (myself included) have been using them on the street and track for years. the same rule applies... torque your lugnuts/bolts with a good torque wrench regularly, and you have nothing to worry about. just dont use non-hubcentric spacers thicker than ~10mm.
