Fraud By "komitao"

Does anyone know who "Komitao" is?

I sent him $1200 CDN. for some rims over a month ago and of course nothing arrived. He has changed his numbers and gave me fake tracking numbers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I believe he has a 2009 135i (Alpine White)

He may have used the fake name "Tony Phung"

I emailed him the money in an email money transfer.

Kind of stupid of me but I trusted the guy after speaking to him many times over a week.

Admins have access to all of that, including the email account that the user signed up with and continues to use.

Do you mean like a bank-to-bank email money transfer? If so, call your bank and tell them that you sent this money and never received the item indicated. Tell them it's fraud and you're speaking to the police. If he actually took payment to his bank account there's nothing you need to worry about, everything is traceable!

Helping Alex work on this and we have a number of promising leads so far, including what i believe to be his real email address and a history of posts on other random forums, so we have resources to use. Using a number of techniques i used to use here in Australia to track people down for court orders on behalf of clients, so it hasn't taken too long (probably 3 hours so far) to get this information so I think we'll hit the goldmine very soon.

If anyone's had contact with him (such as buying items/selling items), could you please PM me as I think I am close to locating him. I just need to double check my info so far.

I have a distinct feeling his email address he signed up with will be one that he has used on another board to get tips/advice from others. Maybe this info won't yield too much as it may well be the same as i've found this evening, but still worth a try none-the-less.

The banking system is sophisticated here so you won't have any problem recovering your cash should it escalate far enough. Be sure to check out this website and report the fraud to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Agency (www.phonebusters.com) and RECOL (www.recol.ca).
