This what it looks like on the Autobahn
I just got back on Monday from my ED trip to Munich. It took a while to get the car past the break in period but I finally got to open it up a little bit.
Here is thre result. I think I could have gone a little bit faster, I never hit the rev limiter, but never had the chance with the traffic.

6th gear. I am putting together a bunch of pics to share about my Eurodelivery. Once I get everything together I will post a full story. I only got one of the speedo. I asked my wife to take the PIC, but she was scared so I had to drive and get this shot. Here is a shot of the car in Italy near the Stelvio Pass.

My first thought was that you were probably going about 135 MPH given how, um, optimistic our speedometers are.
What a great way to get introduced to the car. Wish I had a chance to let it run on the Autobahn. |

On my GPS, 155 on speedo was actually 148. On a closed road course of course.

I have heard that the speedos are innaccurate, but it still felt pretty fast.

I cant believe out speedos are so inaccurate, thats just wrong. But then again, if you get pulled over and the officer asks you how fast you were going you can always say, im not sure, my speedo is off by about 10 mph :iono:

Here's a video at 120 mph. The speed indicated in my avatar is equivalent to 167 mph... my wife was driving. I only had the opportunity to do 165 mph.

Actually the correct answer is always "A safe and reasonable speed given the conditions, officer." That should also be the honest answer.

Tell me Carl, how did the car feel +200k/120mph?
The reason I ask is I had the chance to put an Audi S5 into top gear (on a private road of course ) and found it was very "floaty" and didn't have enough down force to feel firmly planted at those speeds, which is not something you want to experience! |

120 is respectable, Carl... for an American road. I hit 140 mph this morning on a normal Italian highway and it was great!! The roads here aren't as big or well maintained as back home, unless you're on an Autostrada. Have a good road trip coming up to Calabria that should be really fun. The car got to 140 easy, and I was right at 5000 rpm. Since I've only got 300 miles on it, I didn't hold it there very long, though it was clearly anxious to continue upward. What a blast this little machine is. True precision engineering.
If anybody has insight on blowing the 110 mph recommended breakin limit, please let me know what I'm risking going over that. |

I was able to push mine up to an indicated 160 somewhere along the A7 on the way to Berlin. I'm guessing that was really only around 150-155 since the engine is supposed to be governed at 155. I would have taken a picture of the speedo but I didn't want to risk it myself and my wife was asleep - she would have pitched a fit if she'd been awake anyways!
The car felt pretty nice up to those speeds - still very sure footed and stable. But the combination of engine noise, road noise, and steering feel all made it obvious that you are going VERY fast!

before my springs and sway bars, it felt a LITTLE floaty at 140...now it hits the speed limiter without feeling the least bit floaty...(on a private road of course)
