Envelope icon on radio display

What is the envelope icon and how do i get rid of it?

It's an indicator that you have new e-mail. Wander thru the iDrive menu and find office/messages and it'll display the available email messages.

Intellesting - you have a paired phone I take it? Do you have BMW Assist? That's the only place where I see an envelop given the manuals I have.

Yeah, mine is either text messages or email. I forget which, but I think it is text messages. I think the concept is/was that you would then go through and read them through the radio. But somehow it's storing messages that i can't read AND it keeps the icon. To the point the icon is constantly on, and now, I just ignore it.

Any way to reset or clear it? Gotta go to the stealership to resolve? Maybe I'll about this when i get the airbags resolved.
