Awesome stuff in this thread!! Thanks OP!
I have never wrapped anything before. I have a couple questions... 1. Did you use one long strip for the grilles and just wrap it around? 2. Also any suggestions on a safer heat gun to use with this? 3. Does the wrap leave a lot of residue when removed? 4. And I take it you are using the lighter fluid as a solvent for the gel sticker? How did you reapply it, with double sided tape or? Thanks again |

Heyhey, 1. When you take the slits out of the grille, you're left with the "ring". I then cut a rectangle piece big enough to cover the whole "ring". And after I apply heat and becomes flexible, I push it through the "ring". 2. Any heat gun will work. I used cheap 15$ JobMate brand hahaha 3. The wrap leaves absolutely NO residue after you remove it. 4. Yes, I used the lighter fluid to remove the sticky residue. I used 3m double sided tape to attach the badge back on after. If you have any questions, pm me and I can walk you through with more detail if you want. Good luck! |

Ive found some good ebay sources for scotchprint (though id prefer di-noc :/ ) if locals dont pan out.
Is a 12" wide piece enough to cover the height of the grilles? I will have plenty length wise. 5sq ft at $3 a sq. ft. doesn't seem too bad to me. |
