I'm planning to get one, but will be keeping the 1M as well...will make that decision between the two later.

If the 1M didn't exist then yes I would definitely have one but as I've said in the previous post I completely agree with Chris Harris and there's nothing out there that really interests me .
My 1M is a forever car and will eventually get past down to my son who loves it nearly as much as I do ! |

I'm just wondering if something completely different like a GT4 wouldn't be better than something similar like the M2 🤔 |

Long term I'll probably sell one of the two and try to move into something mid-engine or roadster or both! F430's can now be had in the 80-90k range, or maybe an Exige or a Z4M roadster depending on funds. I think there is not much harm if you can swing it to keep the 1M and then spend some quality time driving them back to back to make that tough decision. I added an E46 M3 to the garage a couple years ago, after taking a trip where we were back to back swapping the 1M and the M3 it made it very clear to me which one I liked more.

Spoke to a salesperson earlier today. No word yet on pricing and production - UK pricing appears inline with the GT4. He mentioned US production should be 500. Assuming it's $30-40k over what a decent 1M can be had for, it's not really apples to apples. See the M4 GTS for evidence of how these end of run special editions hold up value wise. Granted the M4 received some less than stellar reviews. Will the M2CS be that much better than an M2C to justify the big price difference? Probably not for me but who knows.
I have very little desire to play the M2CS speculation game and put a deposit down. Happy to have my "investment" chips in the 1M for now. I'd pair the 1M with a nice roundie 02 before jumping to a $100k M2. |

The 1M was priced right when new. The M2CS is priced too high for what it is.

Unless I am missing something, the 135is hasn't become a cult car and doesn't have much of a following, both of which are needed for a limited edition car to take off in the resale market.

They are DCT.
M2CS standout features are (straight copy paste): -Carbon fiber vented hood (1/2 weight of steel hood, increases downforce and has cooling effect) -Carbon fiber transmission tunnel (saves 6 pounds) -Carbon fiber roof Rest are gimmicks. Brakes are detrimental, can't fit 18s over them a 400mm front rotor and that narrows down GOOD options for R-comp tyres. The trans tunnel was a let down even though I've pasted it above. It saves 6 pounds because of the removal of the armrest - a common CS theme. The carbon itself doesn't mean much. Marketing at it's finest. I actually thought the trans tunnel, you know part of the unibody was constructed out of carbon then somehow attached to the unibody - that would've been interesting and cool. Really it's just a carbon armrest delete centre console. |

Mine is a 6MT convertible. The actual production numbers are available somewhere on the 135is thread, which I haven't visited in a very long time :-)
My recollection is that ~40 6MT convertibles were produced out of a total number in the low 200's. About twice as many coupes were made, with, I believe, a greater proportion as manuals than was true of the convertibles.

I didn't buy the 135is convertible because it was an "is." I bought it because it was 2 years old with only 5000 miles on it, was easily available from Carmax with a transfer, and was being sold at more than 40% off of MSRP with such light usage. The fact that it had a black exterior with a red leather interior was another attraction, to me. I have a soft spot for BMWs with red interiors, although prior to this purchase have never owned one. Getting back on topic, I don't think that this particular iteration of the M2 that is coming deviates all that much from an M2C, other than in trivial and cosmetic ways. The fact that it was made at the factory rather than modified at the port, is pretty small potatoes when you consider the minimal real changes that a driver would experience on using it, vs. the garden variety M2C (which itself is of meager to no interest, to me).

I just got an email from BMW about an "up to $4500" savings sales event. There is no mention of whether or not this can be applied to the M2cs.
Reading the fine print, you will receive a coupon to apply towards your next evaporator replacement.
