Thanks for the feedback

And what's everyone's views on replacing just fronts, and using the same pads front and rear, on my R34gtr i never found the need to run anything more than stock rear pads with ds3000s up front

front and rear

Gonna go with the pfc-08 up front, just not sure whether stock rear pads will be any good, if i do change them do i fit pfc-08 as well or a set of ds2500s,

Related to this, how hard is to swap? I have been venturing on DIY track related mechanical stuff on the SVT Focus (e.g. front pads swap), but have been hesitant to do so on the 1M. In other words my skills are at the beginner level, hence have been running on stock pads (front ones lasted around 7 track days).

Very, very simple. First time I did the swap it took me an hour or so as I had no idea what I was doing and I had zero wrenching experience at that time. If you have never taken the stock pads out they can be a total bitch, some kind of adhesive made mine a handful last time I got my car back from the dealer for a brake service. Just required some extra force.

See this DIY: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=941843

There is also a good DIY on YouTube if you search e90 m3 brake pad swap.

Surprised your track pads held up to that much work, mine were dissenting rating after a few days.
