You have something unique, marketable and desirable. Commend you for offering on this forum at a fair price. If no takers, BaT is definitely the way for you to go. Picked up my 09 Msport with more miles on BaT at a price only slightly lower than what you are asking.

I have the same year/color/interior/car with Nav, wood trim, and heated seats—but no P-Exhaust, and with Anthracite APEX wheels. Any 6-speed manual Msport is rare these days and 2013 is one of the best years. Few will have as low miles as yours and I really can't figure out how you kept the miles off this car!

What other daily-driver did you own at the same time?

This won't last long at 20k. Great deal I think. Nice spec, rare. I would BaT this one if I were you

Agreed. This would be a great car for BaT, as it's pretty much peak 128i: 2013, original owner, low miles, unmolested, service records, M-sport, 6MT, clean Carfax. Can't ask for more than that, and it's what the really picky people like to see.

If it was my car (well, if it was mine, I wouldn't sell it, but if I was going to sell it), I'd put the original wheels back on, have it professionally detailed, then have one of the BaT photo people shoot the pics. Spending a little more up front would pay dividends in the final result, I bet.

Present this car looking like a million bucks and it'll do really well I think.

Appreciate the feedback everyone!

Definitely a tough decision to part ways, it's been a fantastic car, but I'm letting my logical brain take the lead here. Future family needs, costs, etc.

I've toyed with the idea of switching out the wheels, but I'd need to spend a couple hundred on new tires and hope to sell the TSW's separate, but hey maybe worth it.

I've always worked downtown with no good parking, so I either biked or took public transit which really helped keep the miles off. For outdoors stuff like camping and HD runs had an SUV or truck (F-150 right now), and then when more than 2 people were in the car was able to use my wife's sedan (most recently an Audi A4)

I'm in WA and would be interested in the car if you're willing to come down on price without the TSW wheels. I bid 11.7k on the last car on BaT but I feel that the ending price was a little bit of an anomaly. It only take 2 people to catch auction fever to drive the price up.

BaT permits running a history on specific models. Running the history on 128 manuals will show a definite high trend. While it is true that 2 or 3 focused bidders will drive a price, there is a real pattern here. The only way to get one of these at a low price is to scour national ads, prepare to travel or get extremely lucky.

Asking price of 20k for last model year with msport and 6 speed is spot on. If it were my car I would not accept a penny less. Keep in mind this one has performance exhaust to boot and thankfully lacks idrive navigation.
I’d be shocked if it would not bring >20k on BAT.
I’d buy it myself if I didn’t already have one! (2009, 6mt, msport, PE, oem ssk & performance air intake, less than 11k miles)

How much time have you spent in an LCI E82 with Nav?

Exactly None. I don’t care for the way it looks plus my smartphone does a better job with suggestions and traffic updates. I have nav in my X5 but find it mostly useless and I use my iPhone exclusively for navigating.
As these cars get older I can see non idrive models being significantly more desirable due to a more pure driving experience. But that’s merely my humble opinion. Different strokes for different folks…. One of the benefits of living in a free country.
Long live the manuals.

It has very little to do with the Navigation part, although with a set of updated maps, it works very well without having to chase your phone all over the place or stick it where it was never intended.

But if you enjoy using your phone in the car or listening to music, the display and the iDrive make it far easier to see what tracks are in your phone or your iPod, or the car's own hard-drive called Music Collection that is part of the later iDrive systems, or to see what numbers are in your phone book without scrolling through the tiny one-line display in the non-iDrive cars. I'm not talking about the old iDrive cars with the pop-up screen, DVD-maps, and the one-button iDrive control. This is the update with the fixed screen and hard-drive based maps, with direct access buttons surrounding the iDrive knob.

If you've never tried it, you don't know what you're talking about! That is quite obvious, regardless of your right to your opinion in a free-country. Of what value is your opinion if you're only parroting what other ignorant non-users have said before you?

I agree manual slicktops are on the uptick but not $20k high. I've been casually looking and watching the prices the last 3 years. I've seen a couple with 80k-100k miles go for under $15k. Here is the closest recent comp from BaT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-bmw-1-series-9/

I'm not trying to knock the OP. He has a nice car and I'm sure $20k is a starting point. I would be serious about buying if he's willing to negotiate. Personally, for around $20k I would expect M3 control arms, limited slip differential, supersprint headers, etc. or I would buy one of the manual, non i-drive, sunroof cars that are on the market right now in the $10k range and install a carbon roof.

edit: Wait a minute....for some reason this whole time I thought this was a slicktop car. That changes a lot for me. OP I hope you fine the right buyer. Just some advice, the slicktop, manual, non i-drive are what is skewing the prices so look at what the sunroof cars are selling for. GLWS

And, of course, you know how much weight you are you saving, right? Taking some of that ballast out of your gut would offer a much more tangible weight savings! Or wearing lighter shoes when you're charting timed laps in your commuter car.

And slick-top cars are not driving the market. It is simply sticks in general. If you use BaT as a metric, then you'd have to assume any non-Msport car in an unusual color is the one to own. The facts are that for years BaT wouldn't even consider listing a 1-series other than a 1M, so the data are pretty much skewed to the few that make it through to auction. Then there is the whole issue of BaT selling out to profit over listing interesting cars (understandable), but if you look at their BMW bike choices, they are scraping the bottom of the "enthusiast" bikes and putting up instead badly restored, improperly represented models from anyone willing to put up with BaT's calendar.

Meanwhile BaT continues to gush effusively whenever a stick E9x wagon shows up with a quick cover of its rust-belt origins. Still fun to watch, but only based on a small slice of reality! And then there's the E30 M3 Sport Evo near me that's already sold at least twice for over $200,000 right now sitting at a mere $130,000 with two-days left, for those of you who like to witness drama as it happens.

As one of my favorite audio sites says with respect to an iconic vintage speaker that brings buckets of money each time they change hands but really don't sound that good, BaT values are "Fake but Fun".

Buy what you like, but don't simply proselytize by repeating old adages you read here but have never experienced yourself.

Really cool to see a similar car to mine here for sale, almost exact minus the interior color. Amazing that it's the original owner selling it. I think 20k is a very good ask for this car. I do agree with what was said regarding selling it as stock/virgin as possible. Also would help to get a detail.

Either way, if someone knows what they are looking for, they will buy it. If I was still looking for mine today, I'd hop on this immediately.]

More and more 128i'ers coming into this space. It's the very last of a breed.
