I was torn on wether to go with what the German tire dealer "told me" was the largest size I could go with(245's om 8.5 wide wheels)... or to listen to the tire experts over here - and go with 255's on the same 8.5 wide wheels. Well... as you know... I went with our 1addicts advice and I am soo happy I did! Dackel |

I do not know. I did ask my tire dealer for XL load rated tires when I was trying to decide on which tires to go with (ContiContact3's vs PS3's). He told me the Michelin's that I bought were XL rated - bc they don't make anything else in this size/class. Then when I got home and looked at my reciept I saw the "TL" rating. ? |

OP: Great info--thanks for posting the review! It was just what I was waiting for... going to be ordering some PSS in the next week or two. Not sure if my RFTs will last that long, hah.

I ran PS2s in the rain on Saturday. My instructor and I couldn't believe how much grip I had on the wet track compared to all the other cars in my group. All those M3s must have started out with PS2s, but then they try to save money and end up slow.

oh i forgot. as far as your RFTs lasting until you get your PSS I would put my money on them lasting. At about my first service interval @ 15k the service manager called me up and really wanted to put new tires all around and I was not having it. even though there were about 8 serious bubbles up front and the tires were more than worn past being useful (as useful as RFTs can be lol)
However, I have to say that I prayed that the RFTs would last until my PSS arrived and sure enough 7k later at 22k they were still holding air, which is really all i was hoping for. so 2 weeks? yeah, you'll make it 2 weeks haha good luck! these tires are going to transform your driving of the car; i really cant explain it enough, you just have to experience it. please post back when you finally put em on. i am curious to see if you love them as much as i do... later

All the first person testimonials also persuaded me to go with Michelins. When you drive on worn out tires for a long time... and then buy new tires... ANY tire will feel great. But what I kept coming back to with the PS2 drivers was seeing how happy they are even after many miles/years. The Michelins are truely a great tire. Not just when new but also at 1/2 or 4/5ths of their thread life. Dackel |

ohh haha just saw about the hpfp; thats terrible man. i have a 2010 and thought that by then they would have the issue fixed however that all changed when i was stranded on the side of the road with a failed hpfp and my V4 still installed... had to bite the bullet and pay for a tow to my house because BMW Assist would only take it to the dealer and I needed to plug in/clear codes before they got their hands on it. what a hellish ordeal!
for your sake i hope it is only your imagination

Michelin maintains they will last 30K when used in 'one size all around' application where you can rotate. 15K for staggered set ups.
Click the warranty tab from here.

That's the warranty, but how much slack do they build into that? ie. How likely are the rears to last beyond 15K driving 'normally'?
Would also like to know why a staggered set up would lead to greater wear on the rears? Thanks for the info Gill! |

I can't really tell you - I just got my PS3's. But they do have a TWI of 320 - IF that helps you>? The tire thread depth was slightly deeper than I thought it would have: 8.5mm of new thread. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=48& |

Assuming I keep the car, I'll be getting the tires in the next month or so. Just getting sick and tired of wondering if today will be the day I get to have my car towed to the dealer. |
