PASSIVE GO COMFORT ACCESS Upgrading and modifying
Hello, I have a 2013 135i Coupe and my passive go comfort module has been submerged in water so it no longer works :/
My question is: my car has the little ripples on the door handle which would indicate id be able to open the car by placing my hand over the door handle. this option has never worked and I've never seen it in my settings even when my module has been working prior to drowning. I am on the market and looking to purchase another module. will I need to re-program the replacement module to operate with my key? (someone mentioned as-long as the part numbers match on both modules I won't need to reprogram) maybe my module doesn't have this option programmed into it? do I therefore program the replacement module and unlock the option? I don't know how the modules and programing for BMW works so I'm a bit lost here. I'm also thinking maybe purchase a newer module From a newer BMW that has these updated options? any help is appreciated! Thanks in Advance! |

Following, I have a 08 bmw 135i that has CA. Last two years without it because my passgo module got some water and corroded out. I ordered a used one that should be plug and play, I believe a new one would need coding. Anyways I will update once I install it. Originally never had to touch my key fob to unlock/start the car open the trunk etc.
Fingers crossed. |

Update: “new” module I can unlock/lock my doors with the handle. Trunk unlock still doesn’t work and can’t start without the key in the slot. Bummer

I was just thinking that if the module stores the coded values (not sure if it does) it may have values stored that are different from your preferences. For example, the previous owner of the module may have had it coded to require the key to be inserted. |

Gotcha I still need to check fuses, change the fob battery clear stored keys to see if that solves my issue.
*UPDATE* Ignition start without key is working. Still need to troubleshoot the trunk handle and check the antenna. |

All of my Comfort Access functions work except the ignition start sans key. It's probably damage to the Passive Go module, but I'm not sure if I should just leave well enough alone.
