FWIW, on the N54/55, my E90 service manual indicates to disconnect the radiator hose from the thermostat housing in addition to draining the rad via the Petcock.
Presumably this is to drain the block. Appears to be the connection at PN 11 to the Thermostat. The under car shot is taken looking towards the rear - you can see the intercooler in the top right. ![]() ![]()

now mi waterpump i gone and i replacement but i live in Peru south america i want to use the motul coolant or is neccesary use the bmw coolant.

Thanks for the tutorial. Thought I’d add that for a N54 the intercooler must be lowered on the drivers side to access the bleeder plug.

Sounds like a pain arse to change fluid for N55 by moving the intercooler to access rad drain plug.
Can you just disconnect the return line to the reservoir/fill tank and do 2-3 electronic bleeds while filling the reservoir tank with new coolant? |
