Us old foggies still remember when we were out beating around in our muscle cars and seeing our friends slowly getting the money to work on their cars. It was of course HP first and foremost, but then came slow body work, then when you got to drive around a "full" car in primer - it was a celebration. But the dull primer still meant unfinished - and that is what my brain still see's when I see the matte paint jobs.

I've seen some cases where it shows off the lines of certain cars well, but I don't think I could ever own one as it would always look like primer to me.

My brother's R8 GT is that matte white, but I don't think I'd ever choose that myself.

I also dislike grey cars, but that's neither here nor there.

For what it's worth, the Phantom was always my favorite model growing up and I have enough respect for those that flew and crewed them that for you, I will agree to like one, matte car, even if it is grey. So now my official stance is all matte cars are bad, except yours, which is awesome.
Me lighten up??? I guess you missed the big grin at the end of my post.

There is nothing quite like a meticulous, shiny paint, waxed and polished to mirror like finish!
Matte is underwhelming to say the least.

I'm indifferent about them but the GF loves the PlastiDip job I did on her '86 E30. This is purely temporary to hide the mismatched fender, bumper and hood. I've yet to install the facelift rear bumper (front bolts right on, rear needs about 2" of length cut out), at which point we'll paint it properly after we've saved up the money. This cost me about $300 and took me from 10am-3am from prep to painted.

Black is the darkest color, xender discord omegle the result of the absence or complete absorption of visible light. It is an achromatic color, a color without hue, like white and gray. ... The Ancient Romans had two words for black: ater was a flat, dull black, while niger ... fired, the figures painted with the slip would turn black, against a red background.
