Should I Extend my Warranty?
Have a 2012 E82 N55 about to hit 78k miles. Current warranty runs out around 80k miles or Feb 2016.
I haven't been able to use the warranty as of yet and even the repair which I could use the warranty on was under 500 and pointless to use the warranty. The issue was a antifreeze reservoir had a crack and was replaced. Should I extend or get a new warranty for the car? It is a DCT and has been very reliable since getting it at 56k miles. Only have been running a JB4 stage 2 map 5 for the past 4 months and doesn't seem to hurt the motor at all. Planning to do plugs and sparks in the next 20k miles if I keep it and was quoted at 360 with labor for the new parts. Suggestions? |

I got a 3rd party extended warranty when I purchased my car used...I think I paid around $3500 for it. Already had to take it in for a $2000 repair. The DCT trans pan started leaking. Only had to pay $100 out of pocket. I only have 54k miles on mine. One more small thing on mine and the warranty is paid for.
You are getting up there in miles, might be worth it depending on the cost.

Like Dilmorecg, I went 3rd party as I purchased my wheels from a private party a few months back. My warranty is Silver Tier, I believe, and it came in handy last week when I had to replace all of my fuel injectors and spark plugs!

Warranty only wants to replace 2 of the 6 injectors at this time if I go that route or I can simply try cleaning them to resolve my last issue. This is why I'm hesitant to pay the 3k premium for the extended again over just saving the 3k and fixing repairs |

How much longer are you going to keep it for? If money isn't an issue than just pay for things when they come up.
If you want to keep it for 2+ years and drive it year long and you don't want to worry about $$$ then buy the warranty. If you have the money now, I'd just pay for the warranty and have piece of mind, I personally don't like having to worry about high costing repairs etc which can easily happen |

The dealer told me I had to replace all fuel injectors at once as they no longer make the OG ones for my car.
Additionally mixing the old and new fuel injectors wasn't an option either as I was told they don't work together.
