How strong are VMR wheels? My brother had a set and it seemed to have not held up at all. Always had a wheel bent after hitting a pot hole. Granted his wheels had a slight stretch but still. I like the VMR wheels but I don't want to go with them if they are not strong.

So many people run VMR wheels. Every wheel will bend if you hit enough pot holes and especially if its got a decent stretch to the tires. Are they the lightest? No. But they do offer wheels that are a decent fit and look for the European car scene.

VMR's aren't bad IMHO. You get great looks and decent durability for the money. I took bent two this past winter having hit a nasty pothole in Boston and I was able to get them both retrued for $280. They did not crack so they get points for that. If I had it to do all over I would have gone Apex Arc-8's for their aggressive 1 series offset.

I like the APEX EC-7's but they don't have the concavity I am looking for. They have more of almost a lip compared to the v710's

For the price theyre good wheels, but in absolute terms theyre not very strong. For not enormous amounts you can get much stronger Forgestars or Apex. But all in all theyre good, obviously very popular around these parts.

If you happen to see my thread about my dented wheel in this section, please take that with a grain of salt. The pot hole I hit was enormous. It would have damaged ANY wheel, even a set of stocks with stock tires. No wheel was safe from that damn crater.

I like the 710s..like the look of 18" idk if et 45 will fit and if so any advice on tires size? I am not planning on dropping her any time soon

ET45 should fit in the front if you don't go too wide with the tire. On an 8.5 wheel you could do 225, not sure about 235 but a minor roll would accomodate that.

+45 on a 8.5, you can go to a 245 without rubbing. No roll.

245 would be tight but i'm sure it can be done. You're right though 235 will fit no problem up front on the above wheel. Still so tight on the non M E8x

235 up front isn't bad..what about the rears? with the 9.5. Think I could go et 45 without any issues?

Are you going with 18s or 19s? That makes a difference. 45 is kinda a shallow offset, ideal for a 1 is 58-62. I'd imagine you could get 265s under there without a roll on 18s, but you might need more agressive camber to get it to fit. With 19s you'd be safer with 255s.

OP, all of our wheels conform with the quality control and testing processes issued by JWL/VIA, are produced in an ISO approved facility, and many of them have higher load ratings than other brands in the same price range (815KG). Any wheel can bend or crack from a pothole, unfortunately. I can speak from personal experience, that wheels that are much more expensive than ours are just as susceptible to damage from road hazards.

To answer questions about sizing, we recommend 18 or 19x8.5 ET45 front and 18 or 19x9.5 ET50 rear. 225 front and 245-255 rear tires are generally what our customers run, depending on the wheel size, whether or not they're lowered, etc.

I'm looking to get 18's...would like to go with et 45 in the rear, but I don't know what size tire I can put without having issues..I won't be lowering her any time soon, in the future possibly but when it gets to that point I'll figure it out

If you're going with ET45 rear, a 245/35/18 might be a wiser choice for the tires. 255/35/18s may require some fender rolling to fit.

Never had any problems with my V701s, up here in Canada Eh and lots of rough roads and potholes, including some gravel roads.

What tire brand should I go with...don't want to run into issues, also don't want to go too thin of a tire so I have a little more cushioning
