AA tune + bolt ons

I wanna get the AA tune, and I'm just wondering what bolt on mods would help get the best gains out of the tune?

If you got a aftermarket cold air intake and the BMW performance exhaust, do you need to tune a 128? I believed it always self adjusted.

No tune is necessary until you introduce a 3 stage intake manifold or headers

Well the performance exhaust does nil - intake, about the same.

Correct. Headers, 3 stage manifold and MILVS require a tune to make the most of.

Things like intakes and exhausts don't need a retune, but they can free up more power.

So would getting eat aFe stage-2 Si air intake just be a waste of money? They claim for it to add up to 12hp and 15lbs

Intake is a waste, 3 stage and headers are best way to go with AA tune. I added their exhaust and have been happy ever since.

Correct. It was worth 6 or so whp over the stock box(and carbon filter) with a K&N filter.

2whp 3whp over a stock box with AFE filter and no carbon filter.
A smooth elbow like the rev motoring would probably put them on par.

I took the carbon filter on this and every N52 that I have. I also have the elbow. The less restriction the better when it comes to intake. The disa valves from the 3 stage create enough turbulence for proper atomization.

The elbow actually has a resonance chamber to control intake noise more than anything. Real OEM calls it a "silencer"

I have the silicone elbow, not the stock one.

I know. I'm telling you what the stock elbow does.
