Looks nice. $5k less than Model X 75d, similar range.

I've never been an Audi guy. I'd buy that.

Audi Canada is taking reservations at 1k. Don’t see any CAD pricing though.

I was wondering why there was a line around the block at my local Audi dealer.

Tech is still too expensive. I'm wary of early-adopter problems too

So pros: 1) it looks great, but it is conservative 2) price vs range is good for an SUV 3) robust charging network will be in place by the time it is released 4) much nicer materials and workmanship than say a Tesla 5) skateboard chassis for battery and engines instead of reworking a gas powered car to be electric like the EQC

Cons 1) they talk efficiency but it is not very efficient... 95kwh battery gets 250 miles (vs Tesla ModelX 250 ish in a 75kwh battery or 300 ish in a 100kwh battery) 2) could've had a more advanced design with more room if not handicapped by parts sharing with the ice cars

I wonder what it is about the Jaguar iPace and Audi E tron that their 95kwh battery packs are only giving them 250 miles of range? Maybe software management doesn’t allow 100% of the battery to preserve it’s stated range? Would be interesting to see a real world range comparison between a Jag iPace, Audi E tron, Mercedes EQC, and Tesla Model X 75D and 100D.

If Audi has a good lease option when it comes out I’d consider getting it to replace my wife’s gas car. I’ve already got a Tesla Model 3 for myself.

i think it's a tempting alternative to anyone shopping for a MX 75D without plans for roadtrips.

starting $8K less after incentives compared to the base MX 75D. nicer interior, traditional exterior. the qualities crossover buyers are looking for. not performance or 30 miles more range or fancy falcon doors or 7 seats.

audi is actually being very smart on pricing this car, they undercut the MX obviously but if you compare it to the q5 ,this car is a whopping $25K more expensive similarly equipped.

this means they are not at all allowing any cannibalism to happen intra brand. if you very specifically want an EV SUV, then they have the cheaper and still competitive product compared to the industry leader, if you are flip flopping between EV and ICE, the pricing will push you over to the ICE option. either way the brand wins.

this is also pretty evident on their proposed production volume of 50K units a year, they are positioned to sell every single one of them. wouldn't surprise me if there isn't any form of price negotiation from the dealers with buyers, if anything, i think dealers are going to mark this up by $2K until the second model year.

Leasing it the smart play.

When solid state battery tech arrives, overnight the current gen electric vehicles specs will be completely outdated.

Battery swapping which Tesla demonstrated under 2 min. might be a solution for current generation Teslas.

It's on a bespoke chassis, it doesn't share with the ic vehicles.

Didn’t mean the chassis... looks to have a skateboard chassis.

However under that frunk there seems to be alot of hardware taking up the space. If that hardware was made more compact and EV specific then they could’ve given it more of a cab forward design which would increase the interior space.

Apparently VW/Audi will have supercharging stations in 40 states in the next 9 months. Impressive.

Never really cared for Audi but it seems like a nice enough car. Blows the Tesla out of the water from a design and quality standpoint.

I just spotted a camo'd E-Tron driving next to me in Tampa Bay, FL. Looks really, really good in the flesh.

if its electric, why leave that huge front grill there for nothing other than increasing air drag?

Which Tesla promptly abandoned. Not sure why they never followed through.
