Bimmer Performance Center MILV Install

We just finished up installing MILVS on this 128i. This is such a great modification for the N52 platform. We were able to get it strapped to our dyno to perform pulls but after two pulls one of the DISA Valve flaps had failed. The customer is getting a remote tune after upgrading to the N54 intake manifold to delete the DISA Valve flaps altogether.

Can you share mods and numbers before the failure?

We didn't dyno this one before the modification. Mods are Injen Intake system, Supersprint headers, supersprint mid section and Berk axle back Race Exhaust 135i. To say the least it was crazy loud, everyone in the shop had to wear ear muffs to avoid having our eardrums blown out.

I saw the dyno on Instagram, it looked loud. What was the peak torque delivered?

We couldn't get a good dyno run before one of the DISA valve flaps failed. We couldn't see peak numbers

What notified you of the failure?

SES light, immediate change in how the car was running, rod through the block?

How did it fail? Sheared shaft, motor failure, other?

It won't really trigger a light to come on. If faults are checked their would be a low voltage system fault stored and there would be a notice in loss of power delivery. If someone wanted to test/check their DISA flaps there is a function in ISTA that can open and close the flaps.

When we attempted to make a pull we could see by the graph lines and by the air/fuel ratio that was something was off. We also just happened to have another 128i in that did the same thing, unfortunately.
