Ordered my new LSD: 3.73 ratio 3-clutch unit with 35/60 ramps from DiffsOnline. I can hardly wait to install it later this month...

Between this diff and my Ohlins, the aftermarket parts on my car are worth more than my car by itself... #GermanDepreciation

Does anyone know of anyone parting out a 135i ?
I'm looking for the underfloor panels and brackets.
I've highlighted them in the attached image.

Thanks

Finally edited my exhaust recording down, and here's the result:

Aha look at that, good for you man! And here I am contemplating of getting just the used auto diff from the junkyard. #broke

After rebuilding a diff twice, I decided I should just fork out the money for a pro-built one and save the headache. Plus, a warranty is nice.

Thanks for any help. Envy to all the guys who can shell out $3K on Diffsonline or PG units.

I wrote a DIY as well with some info you may want

Check Car-Part.com as well, might be better in price.

I don't want to loose the sunroof. So I just slump and lean. Feels wrong but I'm just out for fun stuff, non-competitive. If I where doing competition, I'd ditch the crappy seat and the sunroof.

I keep an ear open for the bmw performance seats. Affordable ones will come up eventually.
Just an FYI. I switch my rear seat headrests to the front seats when on track. They sit much further back than the fronts. I'm 5' 10" so hitting the roof is a small issue with my helmet but the amount that the headrest pushed my head forward was more of an issue. I find this method to be a much better seating position. Might be worth a try.

Found a pic of the headrest. The legs are little closer together on the rears but they still fit. Just can't push them all the way down. You can see the difference between the two. You gain a couple inches of rear head room.

Thanks for this! I had a thread about this at the track but never had any traction. We both had the same issues w our heads being pushed forward with a helmet on and this at least buys us a few inch(es) of space.

If only we can use a race seat legally in NASA without stripping down the car...

You’re gonna love that car even more brother! Who cares if the parts are worth more than the car, right? Don’t have an LSD yet but that seems to be the consensus. Wish I can fork that much now. To think that Diffsonline is local to me...

Thanks for this man. Saw one one the bidding site but still $250 is $$$ for me. Any pointers on what to look out for, aside from it looking nice on the outside? This is the only thing i look for actually, so school me on this...

I know, and I'm super excited! If you're interested in an LSD, I'll be rebuilding my MFactory 1.5-way LSD unit and I'd be happy to send it your way for a small fee. All you'd have to do is put it in a diff, which is a fun DIY project for the mechanically inclined.

It doesn't take much to overtake the car's worth with mods anymore, considering it's a 200k-mile base model with an accident or two on its CarFax, etc. All I care about is how big the smile is on my face at the end of the drive...

Reducing the weight of your wallet reduces the weight in your car #becauseracecar

Looking nice on the outside is about it; little rust generally means little heat (heat promotes oxidation) which means it wasn't abused and doesn't have a heap of miles on it. Just look out for ones that look way too clean...

Weird thing just happened to me: my car didn't start on the first try, and it did it twice. It would click, then lose all power momentarily, then start up perfectly on the second try.

It sounds like you're driving with the sunroof shut. Don't do that.

It's like when my wife complains about visibility when reversing. ITS A CONVERTIBLE. IT HAS GREAT VISIBILITY. The problem is you've accidentally LEFT THE ROOF ON while driving.

Anyway, Clearly, I love sunroofs, but I do agree with the sentiment of removing of 20kg of weight above your head. It's just a shame they don't make those CF replacements with a centre section that clips in & out, so you can still have the open-top when it's not raining.

Hmm, a manual sunroof might be an interesting project for someone...

This happens to me as well. Probably wrong but... My theory is the battery drains, then when the car recognizes that it’s not receiving enough power, the backup activates to start the car.
