APEX Tire Sensors
So I bought a new set of tire sensors from APEX for installation of my APEX wheels when they arrive. My production model uses the UVS2000 style according to the VIN # I gave them. It's a 2011, but was built prior to 9/2010.
Now I know how to reset the tpms on my car to initilize the new tires, but do you guys know if a place like Tire Rack has the programmer to configure the sensor to my car? I had just planned to take the wheels and sensors to them, have them mounted and balanced, and take the set back home to install on the car myself. Will they need my car there to actually configure these sensors, or is it just something like selecting make, model, etc? I was thinking these TPMS sensors would have been a direct fit, but they are the universal ones that operate at 433mhz for my year model. I've never had to do this before as I've always bought complete packages, but I wanted to make sure the sensors matched my wheel color. Can any of you guys guide me through how this process would go?

Also (below) from APEX's site about the sensors. I just wonder if this holds true to the universal sensor they sent me as the instructions say that they have to be configured.
So hopefully someone at APEX already configured them? Sensors are preprogrammed to work with your vehicle, however, you will need to initialize (synchronize) them to your vehicle per the process outlined in your owners manual. |

Good for you.
My set of EC7 winter wheels came with sensors (2 winters now) and I've never been able to get them to sync with the car. I've got 4 sets of Apex wheels and those are the only ones I bought along with sensors from them. I always sourced HUF brand on my own and never had a problem.
