My suggestion is add an air intake and go with a Dinan Stage 2 tune. I love mine and its a safe bet. If you go with a reputable authorized BMW dealer to do the tune, they are generally good about correcting any issues if they do arise... and the do occasionally. I had to bring mine back because I was getting misfires and limp mode about 8 months after the toon. It ended up being the original coils (9 years old at that point) couldn't handle the load with the increased boost and timing, so I changed the coils and also had them put new plugs in since it was already opened up (saved a few bucks on labor)... but the dealer gave me a 235i loaner for almost 3 weeks while they were figuring out the issue with Dinan. Since then it has been fantastic and better than before the issue.

Active Autowerke is also another option, Ive tuned my 335i N54, the Tune added 60 + Wheel Horspower gains and 75+ Ft. Lbs of torque, which is a huge jump from stock, At the time I had Downpipes, Front Mounted Intercooler, Upgraded chargepipe with the BOV, I didn't see the numbers before the tune, but the car really had a lot of life after it was tuned! (And way more aggressive burbles )
Can't wait to tune the M3. |

I'm debating pulling the trigger on a AA tune lol. It's between AA and Dinan at this point. |

Active Autowerke offers a lot more power than Dinan and much more flexibility with 9 different maps In terms of warranty, Dinan is safe to take to the dealer (depends on your dealership) if you have the AA tune, this is similar to other tunes, they would need to be removed before dealership visit (takes 10- 15 minutes) and your warranty is untouched. |
