Red Start/Stop Button
Here's a mini-review of the red stop/start button I recently purchased.
Ordered on 15 April, shipped on 16 April, and received 20 April from Hong Kong. It is of high quality and the firment was spot on. Only time will tell about durability. The stock button appears to be painted with lettering that looks to have been masked off in some fashion. The red button is also painted, but the lettering looks to me to have been created through some sort of laser ablation process. Up close, it doesn't look as good as stock, but in reality it looks pretty darn good. Channeling my inner Iacocca, I'd say it gives the interior some subtle pizzazz. I don't think they advertise on the forum, so PM me if your interested. Right side view: Left side view: Center view: Center view illuminated: Red button 1:1, image size reduced to 1280 x 960 (Original was 4608 x 3456) #11 X-acto knife blade for scale: Red button 1280 x 960 crop: Stock button 1:1, image size reduced to 1280 x 960 (Original was 4608 x 3456): Stock button 1280 x 960 crop:

Looks very good. I've been on the fence about giving this a shot. The right price might make the decision for me.

I couldn't find one to fit my 2011 128i, so I put a BMW roundel on it.

It's advertised over on e90post, where I too, complained about the red button being pretty shit quality compared to the blue.

In addition to X-PH, here's another vendor selling them in red and blue. The lettering for engine looks a bit off to me in either one, but the finish seems decent. http://www.bimlandperformance.com/pr...h-start-button |

That's my preferred choice from what I've seen out there. Still on the fence about ordering one. I'd like to choose blue and be a black sheep, but blue is akin to green in Germany, which is why the i models have blue trim accents inside and out.
Edit: Also noticed the letter spacing looks fine on yours. To go blue or not... Last edited by tock172; 04-26-2018 at 05:55 PM.. |
