I'm not calling anyone a liar but I don't believe it. maybe there is some error in communication somewhere. the difference in a 135i Msport coupe and 335i Msport coup in Europe is around 17% so to bring it here and only have a 7% difference. I don't buy it and I hope I'm right. I do have to say I'm not to pigheaded enough to think there is no way it could be true though. with the worth of the dollar and everything you never know. but that price would kill the car.:iono:

For only a 3K difference I'll go look for a used 335i

BUT, I won't panic until november...I'm just gonna sit back and wait patiently. BMW knows a small car (318) won't succeed in the US unless it's a very good deal. If it (135i) was priced in the lower 30K range, they couldn't keep them on the showroom floor and sell every one of them. For 38K for a turbo car, I'd hit a new STi or EVO. Totally different cars, I know, but I'm just sayin.

Man, people at BMW dealers don't have a clue about what the prices are going to be. I wouldn't believe anything any salesman has to say about the 1er.

Hey, guys, I just talked to be ex-wife's brother-in-law whose friend works at an Audi dealer that competes with the BMW dealership across the street and he said that the 135i was going to cost more than the 335i because of all the M stuff!

All of this is completely irrelevant until something with BMW letterhead is released saying the figures are x for a 128i and y for a 135i. If if happens to be only three grand cheaper than the 335i, then BMW failed miserably.

I don't mean to doubt anyone's credibility on here, but it seems pretty odd that this breaking news item is posted by someone who has never posted before, & someone like TheUltimateDriver, who just dropped a crapload of top secret product info on us the other day does not know about this?

Are you an 'agent provocateur'????

3k less than a 335 coupe......

Have you ever heard the term "Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy"?

Look it up if you dont....

heck, the other day the wife was telling me that a guy form bmw was telling her how dealerships would only be getting about 20 1'ers each for the first year, to "keep demand high", and how they were going be like $28 k (cdn) for a 128...and blah blah blah...

It's all fluff to me until I see something direct for BMW saying "pricing will be..." Until then, I'm going to keep sticking it out.

Well he told me they met with the NA rep today to discuss what the pricing was going to be. I dont think he would make that up, because he knows he will be losing a sale if thats the case. Weve been down this road before with BMW. It wont suprise me one bit if thats the only difference.

I felt I had to register to give you the info I have. I actually have done a lot of reading on this site, just never posted on it. I too am very interested in the 135, especially at the original speculated price point, but of course it had to be too good to be true. I have no reason to make this up. Im simply reporting what my salesman told me while he was in the meeting with the NA rep discussing the cars price point. Maybe hes wrong but hes telling me its a fact, and with the car really not lacking much more than a 150 pounds of the 335 and a little interior room, Im afraid hes probably going to be right. I cant see how they can price the car 8-10k less.

I believe this may be true as well. With only a coupe and convertible, they will probably try and sell it as a sporty step up from the 3 coupe. With the E92 M3 being in the 70K range, people might opt to go with the 135. They're definitely going after the performance people not the 4 door people, and personally I like the 135's looks better than the 335's, but still not enough to buy it as weekend fun car like originally planned. If it is in fact at that price, Ill be waiting for a used one.

see this goes along with what i was originally saying....

37K for the 135 and a dramatic difference to the 128 ( 26ish )

I just think the 135i will be looked as an "M" car in a way. A more driving experiance then the 335i. Hence, more expensive.

I would have to concur that a 3,000 difference will not be enough. Not calling anyone a liar but someone has to be mis-informed.

If the $3k news is true, I'm simply going to have to explore other options.

Awesome thread. I, for one, want to humbly thank, nea, applaud(!), the OP for taking the time to conscientiously register to inform us of an impending injustice BMW NA is about to inflict upon us. Humanity prevails at awkward times. :sniff:

P.S. The sky is falling.

That just makes no sense at all. 37K for the 135i ... they might as well just not introduce it here if thats the case... coz y wouldnt one just go for the 335i if thats just 3K more. I think its not practical to estimate such prices before BMW officially comes out with a number ...

(Dont get me wrong here... i am not trying to offend anyone but something doesnt seem right in this price)

If it is going to be that expensive I am going to have to find a used 330ci
The only thing we can do is to wait and see (hear something posted from the BMW website) I called BMW a few days ago and the guy told me if he were to make a prediction the 128 would be in the high 20s and the 135 in the low 30s BUT who knows, let's just wait and see...
