Looks like they have also added Automatic highbeams for $250. Not that i need that.
It also makes Premium pack on the 128 literally insane at 4100. We should start a petition to make Bluetooth standard in the US for safety. They can still charge more for their Assist stuff.

Well, not really. It's illegal to talk on a phone without it in many states, including mine. Bluetooth isn't really a convenience feature for me... it's a necessity.

Gotta love marketing - Now $400 less (does not include moon roof)
Moon roof option $1000 So doing the math.. to get the same base car as 09 you're paying $600 MORE! thanks BMW. Maybe they should have dropped the price $1000 and take the moon roof out. |

That may be, but even if it's a legal issue, it still doesn't do much for safety.

Granted the safest thing is not talk on the phone at all, I still feel it is safer to use bluetooth. It is no more distracing than talking to someone in the passenger seat & I can keep my hands on the wheel for better reaction time if need be. |

It definitely improves driver safety. Not as safe as not talking at all but certainly better than juggling a handset. |

I myself got bluetooth for my car, but I'm under no illusions and I plan to use it on occasion but I won't get into involved conversations. It's a convenience feature that adds perceived safety but not the real thing.

Also, I don't know how talking into thin air (bluetooth) is any different than talking to a passenger sitting next to you. I believe they made the law because it's a handheld object, not because you lose concentration... |
