best offset for 225/40/18 front

Hey guys

Just wondering, Ive got a set of 225/40/18 that I want to run on the fronts
I originally had 215/40/18 on the fronts and it was pretty close to the strut but has been fine.
I tried to get my them fitted yesterday but they wouldn't fit them as it would rub on the struts.
It is still set on the standard offset which I believe is et49? correct me if I'm wrong?

What is the best way to run them....without using a spacer?
If I have to I will but prefer not to

Cheers

You should be able to run 225's without any problem on the front. I run 235's on stock rims. I start to have issues with wider wheels and semi's but stock should be ok.

i would double check you have the correct wheels on the front of the car as the offset front to rear is different.

I have changed rim size
I had the stock 261 rim before and it was a 18x7.5 but the wheels I hve changed to are 18x8

So you are running the standard offset? no camber?

would you say camber would be necessary to do to make it them fit? or the +40 offset would be good enough?

Do you mind posting me a picture just so I can show the guys at the fitting shop

Changing camber wont help if you are hitting the strut. Camber only helps if your hitting the guard. Only offset will fix the strut issue. Either wheels with smaller offset or spacers.

I have to run a 3mm spacer for my 18x8.5's et45 with 235 hankook semi's on so i dont hit the strut on my coilovers and stock suspension.
Also have to run camber plates with 2 deg -ve for the 235's not to hit the guards.
