Track tire pressures, finally got it right...
Ok so i've been running over inflated tires for two or three months now and finally think i'm in the right ballpark. I dropped a second off my lap times on a .7 mile course by dropping my pressures to 40psi hot. I'm running dunlop star specs, ambient temp was 95-105 the whole weekend. I'm getting very very even tire wear pushing the car even harder than i have been all year. Just figured i'd share,i was definitely wrong in thinking i needed them in the high 40's to prevent rolling over the corners of the tire. With the stiff sidewalls on these tires you can run a whole lot lower pressure than you think.

Iv found that running Z1SS around 38-40 PSI hot offered me the most optimal grip on a road course. This was during a fairly hot day as well. Anything higher, the Z1SS just gave out.

If this is Auto-X try even lower pressures. I have found great results with 33 cold and 35-35.5 warm. |
